Buying myself a second pair of these. Only bought one along with their viral sharpening jig (only wanted to try these clamps out). Turns ouut they're good and I can get a strong hold without over-tightening.
Good pair of clamps. I make cutting boards for craft shows, and during the last batch I used these instead of my usual clamp setup for holding the pieces in place while trimming and sanding. The hold was so firm I ended up using them to route the chamfered edges as well. I didn’t even have to reposition. The clamps stayed dead flat
Sawinery got this one right. I was hesitant when I first saw how small they were, but once I tried them, I was sold. The ratcheting wrench makes it a clean and precise clamp every time.
Solid hold, no denting. Used them on a walnut drawer face I just finished sanding, and there wasn’t a single mark left. The brass pads really do help. They’re smaller than I expected, but they hold tight.
Furniture maker here for 11 years. I build a lot of frames and wall art out of reclaimed pine, and regular clamps tend to dent or crush the wood if I’m not careful. These small dog clamps have been awesome for this. The brass contact blocks apply pressure without damaging anything.
I've been woodworking for over 30 years and mostly stuck to traditional clamps and vises. But I needed something low-profile that wouldn’t interfere with my tools, especially on narrow stock. These do the job well.
At first I thought, these are neat, but after using them on about a dozen different little jobs, I realized they’re now part of my everyday setup. They’ve clamped small trim pieces, held panels upright, helped me do in-place edge routing, and more. They don’t replace all clamps, but for the stuff they do handle, they do it better than anything else in my shop.
I picked these up just to test them out, honestly. They ended up being perfect for when I need to hold something flat while I carve or route. Doesn’t hurt that they look great in the shop too.
Space is tight in my one-car garage shop, so I’m constantly rotating tools and projects. I needed something that wouldn’t get in the way and didn’t require complicated mounting. These small bench dog clamps fit into my bench without taking up any room and hold just as securely as bulkier options. I’ve used them to clamp cabinet doors for sanding, small box glue-ups, and even a guitar body while I carved the edges. For a compact clamp, they’re surprisingly versatile.
